Warming Up

Into the bowl she (quite by mistake) adds
hot H2O instead of cold, or even kinda cool,

Her manner first distracted then distressed
she tries to turn the temperature around

but as the warming up is slowly winding down
the second of the three fish up and dies.

The third escapes the fate, now swims alone -
in mocking silent imitation of its idiotic owner.
