Umbrella Belles

We are umbrella belles of seven seas.

Under currents we meet southern swells
who bow & wave, whose courtships
set us swooning, swirling skirts in reels

We have no hardened parts.

Superficially submissive, soft yet slyly
slick, our self-possession flows & ebbs;
powered by relaxing, fluent in the unconfined

We drift or swim, capricious.

Our enchanting elegance belies a sting -
grace filled, flirty, oft rumored immortal;
collaborators of a fine blooming confederacy.
