Prompt: Forever Stuck In Time: Write a story or poem about a character forever stuck in time at 6:00 PM. The clock never moves. 6:00 Pm. The world stopped. The Mad Hatter drinks tea and looks at his damaged home. He has two rabbit friends and a dormouse. Maybe a visitor. He smiles. He is handsome and sad but he he is always nice. No mail from anyone. No bills to pay. Just drinking tea and missing his family. His make up never fades and his clothes are loud, plaids and don't match. They are never dirty. He looks at his pocket watch. 6:00 PM. The clocks won't change. It will be daytime and it will be night. The sun comes up. The Mad Hatter makes more tea and makes hats for everyone. He walks in the woods and see a squirrel and offers them tea. The Cheshire Cat smiles at him and fades. Same old time always. Why did the pocket watch stop at 6:00 PM? His family disappeared. He went mad. His life was over. He just drinks tea. No TV or nothing fun to do. He cries sometimes but nothing changes. He always has tea. He can't wind his pocket watch. It still won't move. His life. The Mad Hatter sleeps. He wakes. He doesn't know what time it is. It's 6:00 PM always. His pocket watch doesn't have a AM or PM time. The Mad Hatter forgets he is bored. He has friends. He tries to avoid the Red Queen. She's the reason he is mad. He cries at times. Another day. Drinking tea. He loves his tea and he bakes cookies. Time stands still. He sleeps in his burned up house. To him, life is good. He is always stuck at 6:00 Pm. He hopes the hands will move again but he will be alive. He has Tea Time and his friends always. 24 Lines |
