Twice as Good as I Expected It to Be

After Sunday morning when I only did thirteen single paragraphs for my second scriptwriting project, The Final Ritual, in twelve hours, I figured that I would be lucky if I got eight done today in eight hours. But I didn’t do that. I got sixteen single paragraphs written for the Story Outline. That’s about two per hour.

Two per hour still isn’t very good. But it’s a hundred percent better than it was on Sunday. Especially, since it was an eight-hour shift instead of a twelve-hour shift. I should be getting at least three or four an hour. After all, it’s not very busy where I work. It can be busy toward the end of my shift. But I can’t use that excuse this time.

I worked the second shift today. And it didn’t get very busy during those eight hours. But it did get kind of busy. A lot busier than I expected it to be. I figured there would only be two or three. Not six like it turned out to be. All of them leaving there before my replacement arriving. Speaking of replacements, he arrived about an hour early.

Expected him to arrive about a half hour early like he usually does. But today it was about an hour. Luckily, I had gotten all but two of my single paragraphs written of the sixteen I ended up writing still left for today. And I did them while he was there. Something that I don’t like to do if I can help it. Unfortunately, today I did.

I’m often writing when it gets busy or starts getting busy. Especially, during the week. But I can hide it slightly until it’s not so busy. Then I go back to writing again. It’s different when it’s my replacement because he’s hanging around me. So, it’s very hard for me to hide it. I can still do it. But getting back to it is kind of hard.

The way that it’s going it’s going to take me another three or four days for me to finish writing this Story Outline. Normally, I would be doing that during my three days off from work if I can do it. But I can’t do that right now because one of those three days was today. And the other two are taken up with my Short Story writing.

A couple of days ago, I got the prompts for the two Short Story contests that I have been writing lately. And I have already come up with the two stories that I want to write this month. unfortunately, that’s all that I have done on them. I have created a document for each one with the prompt and title for this Short Story. But that’s all so far.

Right now, I will probably go back to my scriptwriting when I go back to work this Thursday morning. And leave my short stories for my days off. But as I get closer to the end of the month, I may start writing them at work too. Especially, if I decided to do NaNoWriMo this year. And I am thinking very strongly about doing that too.
