20220911 What the...? Wow!

Just a quick one.

When I was a performer, the first time I saw myself on TV I was embarrassed. The first time we had a huge crowd, I was nervous. I did not let myself enjoy that.

When I first saw a story I'd written in an anthology, I didn't think, in the arts, it could feel better than that.

Then I saw my first story in a magazine for sale in my local newsagent and that stunned me, but it didn't outdo that very first story.

Then I got my first novella in solid form and it was cool, but it was not a story i was particularly proud of.

Then my first novel came to me. That did it - that was best feeling in the arts I'd had.

Well, it's just been overtaken. We had the radio on at a friend's place, and they played one of my songs. Me, my music, on the radio. Shouldn't a novel feel better? But this was just amazing...

That is the new best feeling I've had in the arts.
