Life is a Trope

I just read the newsletter "For Authors" that came into my inbox. It gave a definition of the word "trope". I had heard of them, but never really gave them much thought as I went about my day.

Well, just like that, writing about it came to mind. So here are a few more scattered marbles headed your way:

All of Life is a Trope
If you stop and think
It some of them were colors
for boys, it was blue; girls- pink

Not so much, it seems to me now
The Rainbow - it is all inclusive
There are no other choices it seems
This everything club is exclusive

A broken clock - time standing still
Creepy music - a monster does lurk
Teens running for the tool shed
And the villain gets the perks

Choices, choices, choices
It seems we all must make
If our life comes out as a trope
Would that be our only mistake?
