Prompts 10/4-10/6 Take Up Your Cross
Proverbs 27:1 Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring.
Kind of self-explanatory. None of us know what's going to happen tomorrow; heck, we aren't even promised the next hour. We just have to be ready for whatever life throws at us. Whether we live, or die, we are the Lord's.
Proverbs 27:2Let someone else praise you, and not your own mouth; an outsider, and not your own lips.
Again, it's always better to let someone else toot your horn, rather than tooting your own horn. That way, if you end up eating crow, it won't be quite as bitter tasting.
Proverbs 27:3Stone is heavy and sand a burden, but a fool’s provocation is heavier than both.
What can I say? Better to steer clear of a fool, as a fool could always bring you down.
