a young inner-city preacher experiences Spiritual and Physical opposition |
"General: Freestyle Brainstorm, World Building or Research" ▼ Spend at least fifteen minutes clarifying things through ""What If"" brainstorming, mind mapping (see resources at the bottom of the calendar), freestyle writing, lists, drawings or research as follows: World Building: For fantasy, science fiction, or other speculative fiction, develop the history, geology, ecology, and/or maps for your world. Research: For reality-based fiction, research aspects of your novel that will lend credibility to your writing ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have decided the setting will be in Chicago, Illinois. I have done research and there are approximately 5 missions in the Chicago area. I will use a fictitious mission and hope to bring attention and possible help and funding to the real ones. I need to do some more geographical research on the area to keep the story and places realistic. The mission will be a homeless mission with a free medical clinic, clothing closet, and food pantry. It will operate on donations and fundraisers. Maybe a thrift store can be part of it for funding as well as providing needs for the homeless. It will serve homeless, addicts, the poor, and also be sort of a crisis center. The city is mostly made up of black, white, Mexican, and Polish people. It has a very large population. With everything involved, there will need to be several volunteers/employees. This will be quite the large undertaking for Joal Burnett. He is not only young and inexperienced, but this is going to be a new experience for him altogether. I may have him purchase the mission with his savings??? |
