Good Deeds? For Take Up Your Cross

Can a good deed still be considered sin in the eyes of God? Why do you think that?

That is an interesting question. I guess it depends on your definition of good. Is it "good" in the temporal, or in regards to eternity? Things that man would consider good, may fall short of God's definition of good.

There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death. (Proverbs 14:12)

Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs the heart. (Proverbs 21:2)

So there is that.

I also think of the adage “If you give a man a fish, you feed him for a day—if you teach him to fish, you feed him for many days.” (Chinese proverb)

So giving a man a fish is a good thing, but in the end, you do him a disservice.

Just my thinking, anyway.
