Wounds from friends

Proverbs 27:6
Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.
What do you think this verse means?


In my opinion, it is that a friend will be there to help you, and tell you the truth, even if it "hurts". Where an "enemy" (someone who doesn't have your best at heart) will tell you anything that you want to hear. A "tickling of the ears" so to speak.

I would much rather a friend tell me a truth, where I can apply it to my life and go forward blessed and having learned something useful for my life. Where will the enemies be, when you fall, after having them "tickle the ears"? No where around you, that's for sure.

Just my musings on the subject.
