A blog devoted just to my scriptwriting. That’s all I’m going to blogging about here.

Ten to Thirteen
Ten to Thirteen

It should have been at least ten single paragraphs that I got written earlier today at work for my second scriptwriting project, The Final Ritual. Maybe even twelve or thirteen of them, but it only turned out to be eight, and about half of them were rewrites. Sometimes it was only a few words, and sometimes it was whole sentences or paragraphs.

I knew what I wanted to write in each one. Just not sure how to write it. Especially, to write it into the number of lines I wanted it to be written in. The number of lines wasn’t my only problem, though. I also had trouble with the end of lines. What do I mean by that? It means that I don’t like to be more than five characters away from the end of the line.

Of course, I would like them all to be exactly sixty characters long per line, but I know that isn’t going to happen. Fifty-five to sixty is for me. Unfortunately, sometimes I have some trouble doing that for my lines. If not a lot of trouble doing it. That is the reason for a lot of my re-writing. Sometimes that can be easily fixed by rearranging words or sentences. Other times it can take a long to do. Earlier today was one of those days.

Another problem that I’m having is with my Scene Headings aka Loglines. The main setting for Tag Act One and Teaser Act Two is that it’s all in one setting, but from different parts of it. Like my sentences and paragraphs, I like to have two Scene Heading in between one before I use it again. I know that reads weird, and it is. That’s just the way I prefer to write.

Yes, I know that each Scene Heading starts out with either ‘EXT.’ or ‘INT.,’ but it’s where these settings are taking place is what I’m trying to write about. There is nothing that I can do about the ‘EXT.s’ and the ‘INT.s.’ They I can’t change to fit my weirdness. Where they are located within those starters I can.

Act Five of this movie is also set in the same location, but it’s not all one-sided like my Tag Act One and Teaser Act Two are because they involve Kealor, Pallim, Tylmer, and Corma. Marri is in a lot of those scenes because of where she is and it kind of centers around her, Wallina, and Sondre. Dinill is in some of them a little bit, but he’s only there as an observer right now. Once Act Five begins it goes back to including Marri and Dinill.

I think I still have seven single paragraphs to write to finish Teaser Act Two. Once I do them, I will be starting Act Five of this project. Since this is a Saturday twelve-hour shift, I should be able to get about fifteen to twenty single paragraphs written starting in about an hour and a half from now. If not a little bit more than that, but after what has happened the last couple of days at work I’m not going to count on anything until it happens.
