Sheep tend to follow one another blindly. Without a shepherd, they can get lost.

Sheep need a shepherd for care of wool, hooves, to find good food, help with birthing lambs (sometimes).

Sheep can be very emotional animals; their first instinct is to run -

How does this relate to us?

Let's see now - We need direction in our lives, and will follow the "flock" or "herd" if we do not get our direction from God (Our Shepherd).
We can often times live by our emotions; thus not always making correct choices.

We need to stay close to the Shepherd if we want to be taken care of - not just for now, but in the future.

I'm not so good with words, so this is just my two cents' worth.
