What are three characteristics of a blessed man? (Ps.1:1) What do you think that means?



Psalms 1:1 (NIV):Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers

It would seem that a blessed man walks in the way of the Lord;

Takes the way of the righteous (note: not self-righteous, like the Pharisees)

Trying to follow the ways of God, and takes the "narrow path". Matthew 7:14 says "But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it."


Sits with those who do not mock the ways of the Lord.

I think this means does not participate in mocking the ways of the Lord, because Jesus broke bread with "sinners", and it was considered good by God, but not the religious people of the day.
