Immobile

A nightmare waking snares me,
my rooted legs won't run.
Leaden arms hang uselessly,
no words escape my tongue.
Gaze fixed on the ceiling,
unblinking somber scene.
‘Locked in’ I hear them murmur
my lips refuse to scream.
