On Writing

A computer and keyboard
now replaces pen and paper -
Writing now is just a clacking
Of the keys.

Still I get lost in thought;
Still I ponder my words -
It's easier to delete
Rather than to erase.

I press on in my writing,
Never sure where I will end;
Whether a poem or a story,
Giving in to the words -

A message of hope,
A cry of despair -
Joy of a new writing
Spurs me on.
