365 Days of Blessing _ March 20, 2023

Dear God,

Everywhere the human heart walks on this earth, the scope of our presence is not nearly as holy and righteous as we may perceive. When compared to Jesus, who had a strong, irrevocable position in Heaven, as Your One and only Son, I am without a cause. Your inexplicable love has always been emphasized in my life. Like the man who has only one precious lamb. And there may be no other. The lamb must be given up, slaughtered, before it has realized a possibility of ever being anything other than a sacrificial lamb.

But in the courts of Heaven, the sacrifice of Your One true and irreplaceable Son, is staggering. Even if in Your heart You knew that all would be turned to be a benefit for all Your creation, and that Your Son would be restored to You. And of course You knew too, that there would then be a difference in Your Son. Something in His nature would be revealed that only You knew. In the journey to earth, knowing a human's weakness and affliction, and yet without sin. And then, after being slaughtered and sent to the depths of hell, a revelation of just what kind of King Your Son is. Whatever Jesus was before in the eyes of mankind, we now see that He is now more exalted because of His sacrifice, His unconditional love for us. What is coming in this exhortation is that we are His, bought with a life transforming price, and I must be as humble in my estimation of my understanding of anything You impart to me as Your “son.”

PHILIPPIANS 2:5-8

Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though He was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men.

And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.

My Lord God, I am without excuse. Have mercy on me and deliver me from every evil, every temptation today. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
