What do you find most comforting about the scriptures?

What I find comforting in reading the Word, is that it is more than a storybook. These people lived, loved, hated, were afraid, were bold - real people with real problems, just like me. They are relatable. And through the lives of these people, you can see God working things out. God loves us so much, even when it doesn't seem like it. We don't know all of the answers, but we can take comfort in His promises. At least I do. And while I've got a long way to go, I trust that He is there no matter, and I can call out to him, whether in praise, or fear, or even anger. God doesn't get offended - He wants a relationship with us - two way communication. We need only take Him at His word, and run with it. If we fall, we ask for help; just like a child who falls and skins his knees - crying out to a parent for help and encouragement - to be there.

Just my thoughts on the subject.
