Week 39 - Time Running Out
As a baby, learning to eat and talk, and walk -
To the "terrible twos" that begin with "No!"
The first day of kindergarten with smiles so bright;
To the first day of Junior High - with a sullen scowl.
The first day of high school - Can I find my classes?
To Senior year...I'm so very glad it's done!
To college? To work? Military Service?
The options seem unlimited.
To marry, or not -
To have kids, or not;
Maybe I'll have a dog -
Or better yet, a cat.
We are never promised tomorrow -
Some of us have been blessed with longevity.
Others, not so much,
As they may not see such milestones in their life.
You do not need to use the phrase, but you may if you like.
Poems should be at least 12 lines long, no max.
Feel free to you any poetry form you like or just wing it with free verse!
