My favourite animal (Prompt-3)


We paced the shore laced in white foam
The sky smiled and the sun shone.
Blanco and I love the morning charm
We are equally happy on the farm.

My best friend ever since age nine,
down the years our bond was fine.
After school I go to the stables
Rub him down with great care.
He greets me with a nod and neigh
His warmth and love, well conveyed.

His coat is like silk under my hand
As I straddle and lean on his soft back
Together we ride on the forest road by the river,
a brisk breeze ruffles his mane, a pretty picture.

He prances around the paddock
chasing hostile animals away and off.
He helps my dad and mom in chores around our home
His speed and gallop are worth a race in the Derby at Epsom.
