Morning Concert

Morning Concert

A groan grinds above
while redwood limbs sway
out and back and forth
in harmony with the cooing
and chirping of local birds.
These are the sounds
of my mornings as I sit
in my garden and listen
for gossip in the hush
and whispers in the wind.
