20230417 Upcoming Talkering

As some may have seen, I have been asked to attend a local writers' talk as part of the local biennial festival. I found out what was going on today. The main author is giving a keynote talk, and the rest of us have been invited to read something for between 2 and 5 minutes. It will then be an open-mic Q&A session.

I have two pieces to read - a short story and a poem.

I am worried, let's be honest. Not because of the public speaking - I've been a professional wrestler, actor, acrobat, stand-up comedian, etc. and talking in front of people is par for the course - but because it is middle of the day on a week day. the crowd will be predominantly older people... and most likely women. The exact people who tend not to read the sort of things o write. I know there are exceptions, but not out here in Outback Australia...

Oh well.

At least I'm there.
