The Cat
She stares through the glass.
Alert to movement,
though still as marble,
except for the flick,
of an anxious tail.
Eager to be quick,
in pursuit of prey,
but stealth is the trick.
So much outward peace
yet turmoil within.
A tiny warble,
stirs the hot passion.
A sudden movement
demands reaction.
But sleep o´ertakes thick,
a nap, I predict.
