365 Days of Blessing _ May 16, 2023

Dear God,

What is it about Your Kingdom? Why is it so radically different from what mankind has developed out of our own wisdom? Here is one factor that appears time in again in Jesus’ teaching: We are to be servants. No matter our position, rank, authority or power. It is servant-hood that is preeminent in all life. You say Lord to Consider others before myself. Humble myself. Now becoming as though not a degree wiser by age, but as the youngest in the community of faith, serve. Jesus says to lead is to serve. There is no exceptions. Your Word of Life mentions no exceptions.

We are either serving others or we are disobeying Christ’s teaching. To understand servant-hood is to look to Jesus who himself served others. Your Son defines what parameters there are around serving others.

Luke 22:25-27

And He said to them, “The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them, and those in authority over them are called benefactors.

But not so with you. Rather, let the greatest among you become as the youngest, and the leader as one who serves.

For who is the greater, one who reclines at table or one who serves? Is it not the one who reclines at table? But I am among you as the one who serves.

I am glad God, to study Your Son Jesus more and more. It is my delight to give myself away in the presence of Your Holy Spirit. Help me Lord God to work the servant principle and statute into every fiber of my being. It is my joy. It is Your truth that quenches my thirst. Thank You. Amen
