How should God’s kindness move us to serve him with all our hearts?

For me, it seems simple enough - God, who extended His mercy to us, while we were yet sinners -gave His Son as a substitutionary sacrifice. Once we accept this gift, we are no longer under the penalty of eternal death and separation from God. This in itself should motivate us to live for God.

We still contend with the world, and our own flesh and desires - we are constantly at war with our old nature. We need to stay close to God's presence in order to overcome the desires of our old nature. It is not always easy; I wish it were so, but since it is not, we must strive to live for Christ in all that we do. When we fail, or fall, we need to repent and strive to do better - asking for His help, which He gives to all who would ask of Him.
