As 40 winks eluded him.
His mind raced down
Dark rabbit holes of despair.
Thousands of things
To worry about.
Overwhelming him with insomnia.

Fish out of water

O dark hundred is military/intel jargon for the time two hours before dawn when special forces operatives get up for early morning operations. Depending on location and time of year “O Dark Hundred” is between 2 a.m to 6 a.m.
