Poet's Cafe "Change"

Summer's heat no longer prevails
It is nice not being baked.
Cooler mornings now reveal themselves
And a cozy blanket feels nice.

Coffee, cider and cocoa
Replace the iced tea,
Hot tea takes the place of lemonade
For one's drinking pleasure.

Sweatpants and sweaters
Instead of t-shirts and shorts.
Tennis shoes replace sandals
Seemingly overnight.

Fall didn't want to show itself,
Until, at last, it did.
Summer's memory shall fade,
Autumn's season now reigns.
