Plotting a novel from scratch for a change of pace. Should be fun.

Day 17 - Cultural Setting
The story is set in modern day Wales. The protagonists are feeling increasingly increasingly out of date. Society seems to believe in greed and it's five seconds of fame. It's practices seem to be isolationist, "me, me, me" with self importance and entitlement stressed, and the ideas of fairness, charity, shared responsibility all derided. You can tell this by the existence of the term 'do-gooder' which is a derogatory.

The seaside town is familiar to the protagonists, but represents a separation from their usual day-to-day lives. They are very consciously 'on holiday', and determined to make the most of it.
