A blog detailing my writing over the next however long. |
October 23, 2023, 9:00am So, I finished a story. The 3k start has become a 47k word novella, meaning I wrote 44k words in 8 days. Almost a complete NaNoWriMo in just over a week. It was certainly an interesting experience. So, it's about a guy who captures a girl he's fascinated with in a crystal and, two decades later, two of her old friends need to rescue her. It's told with a through-story and a lot of flashback chapters. Almost but not quite non-linear. Set in 2019, because I didn't want COVID to be a factor. Here's the chapter breakdown. (Oh, it doesn't have a title yet.) CHAPTER 1 - 1994 CHAPTER 2 - 2019 CHAPTER 3 - 1997, 1998 CHAPTER 4 - 2019 CHAPTER 5 - 1994 CHAPTER 6 - 2019 CHAPTER 7 - 1989 CHAPTER 8 - 2019 CHAPTER 9 - 1990 CHAPTER 10 - 2019 CHAPTER 11 - 1991 CHAPTER 12 - 2019 CHAPTER 13 - 1990 CHAPTER 14 - 2019 CHAPTER 15 - 1994 CHAPTER 16 - 2019 CHAPTER 17 - 1993 CHAPTER 18 - 2019 CHAPTER 19 - 1983 CHAPTER 20 - 2019 CHAPTER 21 - 1993, 1994 CHAPTER 22 - 2019 CHAPTER 23 - 1989 CHAPTER 24 - 2019 CHAPTER 25 - 1993 CHAPTER 26 - 2019 CHAPTER 27 - 1990 CHAPTER 28 - 2019 CHAPTER 29 - 1994 CHAPTER 30 - 2019 There you go. I did try to remember Chekhov's gun throughout, but when I do my edit after November, I'll see how well I did in that regard. Anyway, just another little look into my writing world. |
