I killed another person, but the big story beat was that Raven showed the MC Kurt some of the major magic that keeps her separate from the rest of the student body. And because she was so badly injured by Adam (in Fire Demon guise), the poor MC just had to try and accept what he saw and get her to safety. He also managed to piss off his girlfriend. this revelation happened at about the right time in the story, and now I see why the girlfriend made herself known earlier - Kurt needed the extra complication in his life to make this not easy at all. These characters might be doing their own thing, but they do seem to know what they are doing.

Kurt is confused and concerned, and he's still not 100% sure just what he saw.

Oh, and the magic saved him as well. St Brigid in her traditional guise of Brigid, goddess of the woman warriors of Ireland, is now in the story... and I reckon she's let herself be known so that she can be a literal dea ex machina (not deus - she's a she). The ending is making itself known...
