PASSION
The official reason is
'multiple organ failure'
because they have to write
something tangible on the form.
But I think the real reason
was that Dad had lost his passion
for life.
With his school friends dying
before him
'one less for the roll call'
till there's just one
of the gang left now to mourn him
with the loss of mobility
after spine surgery
with being dependent
on others for everything
My Dad had lost his passion for life.
Shouldn't any official form
have 'loss of passion' as a legit reason?
For quitting a job, a relationship
for moving to another city ...
anything.
Loss of passion is as valid
as any more tangible reason!
PS - If you spell 'P A S S I O N'
backwards
it reads no is sap.
And if you take the "I" out of it
it reads 'Pass On'.
So yeah, he passed on
The 'I' had gone out of passion for him.
