"Agnus Dei / Lux Aeterna" (Fauré's Requiem) - The Sixteen
So, as Max Griffin 🏳️🌈 intimated in a recent addition to his book "Max's Musings" , we've got a Fauré Requiem double-bill for you. Not bad for a couple of irreligious types like us. Max recently treated you to the outstanding "PIe Jesu" , so here is the equally superb Agnus Dei. (Please excuse the boring video - I couldn't find a video of a performance on YouTube that I preferred to this rendition.)
It's a bit of a cliché, but when you hear certain pieces for the first time, they can cause you to just stop what you're doing and hear it through to the finish. The Lux Aeterna, as with parts of the Mozart Requiem Mass, just simply DEMAND your full attention.
And, as with Karl Jenkins a few days ago, we have to have a picture of the man as he is another member of the epic soup-strainer club.
PS The Mozart will be making an appearance later in the month.
