"In Dulci Jubilo" & "Portsmouth" - Mike Oldfield

As it's the final entry, I thought I'd get something upbeat and toe-tapping. (And I don't care if it's not Christmas - the first one of these is always a pick-me-up at any time of year. *Smile*)

Mike Oldfield is a mixed bag for me - I've liked some of his singles, but when I've listened to his longer works it's just left me cold. "Tubular Bells" is possibly his most famous album, but I only got about half-way through before I had to bail out as it was just irritating the hell out of me.

These two are from way back - I vaguely recall the first one featuring in the UK charts at some point in the dim and distant past, and when I saw the second one a few years back it also triggered some feeling of recognition from my youth, though I can't recall exactly when or where I'd have encountered it.

I'd not heard much about him in recent years, but a quick search shows he's still active, so he must be doing something right.

Anyway, that's it for Feb '24. See you next time (possibly).
