I Close My Eyes - Week 26

I have to close my eyes
before the light goes out
before the darkness comes for me
before it can throw its blanket
of fear and ignorance
and extinguish the flame of hope
which burns bright in the visionary

I must close my eyes to see
beyond what the light reveals
beyond the darkness of men’s hearts
beyond the fulfillment
of hell and destruction
and rekindle the flame of love
for the pitiful creature that is Man.
