Being Led by a Cat

Merryville was a town so sweet
People there always happy to greet
Joyous walked here on the Main Street
Today, this Monday, who did she meet?

A cat stepped in front, his fur orange-red
You’re a pretty cat! A surprised Joyous said
“Meow”, uttered the cat, as he walked ahead
Joyous continued on, with this cat who led

Following this cat seemed quite funny
Joyous thought to name the cat Honey
After a pet, she had called Bunny
The two strolled on this day so sunny

They walked contently as though in a trance
Bunny pranced like a fun little dance
Too far ahead, he looked back with a glance
Making sure Joyous steps would advance

Bunny paused to investigate a little hole
On the side of the curb, made by a mole
He looked adorable, doing a small roll
By now for sure, Joyous heart he stole

They passed the barber doing a shave
On a young teen lab who seemed so brave
Through the window, he smiled a wave
She waved back to the man named Dave

Joyous wondered if he saw the cat
Probably not, or he’d stop to chat
She continued on toward her flat
Bunny had confidence like a bobcat

Soon they arrived at her little home
Would she have a pet, or would he roam
Now I’ll end this feline poem
Pet cat now sleeps in a little bed dome
