Artifacts Lost Locket Prompt 11
Monique Carrington was going to be married soon to Lord Jensen Reilley. They were in love and he had given her his mother's pink rose locket. The locket was gold with a painted pink rose design. She was all dressed in pink for the ball and her dress was low cut enough but she was covered. She wore the locket. She and her family got to the Ball and she was welcomed by the Reilley family at their huge mansion which looked like a castle. Monique ran into Jensen's arms and they kissed. They danced. She knew other women had wanted Jensen but he was hers. She was glad.

Monique and Jensen went out unto the terrace. They kissed.

"I do love you but it is a good thing we are getting married in two weeks."

"I know. I love you, too." Monique laughed.

They decided they had better get back into the ball. They had to be respectable.

Monique danced with two other men who asked her but she was just being polite. She was happy to go home when the ball was over. When Monique got into the carriage, she realized her locket was missing. She was so upset. She loved that locket. She didn't tell her parents because her mother would say she was irresponsible.

Jensen was leaving the ball and found the locket on the ground outside the mansion. How could Monique have been so careless? He picked it up and the clasp was broken. He would have to get it fixed.

Monique was sulking around the Carrington Mansion the next two days. She had lost that valuable locket. She would have to tell Jensen. It had been his mother's. He might never forgive her.

Jensen was coming over for dinner the next day. Monique dressed in her blue dress and pearls. She prayed things would go well when she told Jensen about losing the locket.

Jensen arrived at her house. He looked handsome as always. The maid Gladys let him in and he hugged Monique and kissed her cheek. So far, so good thought Monique.

"I think you lost something." He pulled the locket of his pocket. Monique was so relieved.

"I lost it. I was so ashamed. I was afraid to tell you."

"The clasp was broken. I found it after you left my house. It is fixed now. I took it to the jeweler."

Jensen and Monique kissed. They got married and had two children. Monique gave the locket to her daughter. It became a family heirloom.
