Week 51 - Dandelion Wishes

I remember when a little girl,
picking dandelions for my mom;
Just to show her I loved her
And was thinking of her.

Growing up, dad would fuss,
Having mowed the yard.
The dandelions would be back
With a vengeance - no regard to his feelings.

Once in a while, I would find
A full dandelion "puff";
I would carefully pick it and gently blow
The little seedlings into the air.

I'm told these are wishes to be granted
At a later time.
I'm not sure if that is true, but
I loved the thought of it, as a girl.

Now I am older, I don't see many dandelions anymore.
I wonder if the wishes I blew into the air ever came true.
