My Raeni Day

In a storm so fierce and strong,
Came an angel's newborn song.
Dewdrops danced upon my brow
As I questioned about just how
You came to be upon my chest,
A Raeni day arrived to rest--
A tiny being so precious and kind,
All my life before left behind
As you filled my eyes with tears--
And I prayed you'd never know fear.

Each day, my soul's been filled with rain
Dripping down my window pane.
I know in my heart of hearts,
With you I never wish to part--
You are my angel pure and sweet
A miracle that God has laid at my feet--
A smile, a glance, a nod, a word,
And for you I'd battle with sword

I cannot feel my life before you.
I only know the morning after's dew--
The part that says without you,
I am broken with parts too few--
You are my Raeni day to drink,
And of you always my heart will think.
I love you beyond heaven's gate--
And for you I will always wait--
For you complete my spiritual plate
