Day 13 Michael Meyers free verse
         Michael Meyers
         What can be said
         of a slasher, a stalker
         who wants people dead.
         Apparently, Halloween appeals to his hunting nature.
         He likes more than the cover of darkness.
         Wearing a mask he mingles with trick or treaters.
         His faceless choice suitably creepy.
         Not a boo,
         not a moan,
         or even a whimper.
         Mum Mike may be a mute with a chilling distemper.
         What twisted his psyche?
         From where sprang the monster?
         There seems
         no remorse,
         no regret,
         no cessation.
         Hack,
         stab,
         inflict carnage again and again.
         Hellbent on a murderous rampage.
         Freaky.
         Is Mikey evil?
         Possessed of a demonic force?
         His bloodlust, his strength,
         What is the source?
