A blog devoted just to my scriptwriting. That’s all I’m going to blogging about here. |
Doesn’t Include Establishing Shots I wrote seventeen paragraphs today for Act Two of the Episode One Scene Outline for my Water Wars scriptwriting project. And all of them were numeric scene paragraphs. They weren’t Establishing Shots today. Why did I write seventeen paragraphs today? After all, I don’t usually do an old number like that. Normally, I will write them in tens, fifteens, etc. Why did I write two more than I usually do? Unless they include two Establishing Shots. After all, if I write my two Establishing Shots I have still written fifteen numeric paragraphs. I don’t know the answer to this question. Except I had about half an hour left before the end of today. Maybe that’s why. Maybe another reason why I wrote them is because the more I get written in one day the faster I will get finished with these Scene Outlines and the sooner I will be starting my scripts. It also helps out on those few days when I only get ten or fewer paragraphs written. Luckily, that doesn’t happen too often, but it does happen. Another reason is the scripts themselves. I aim to write about fifteen to twenty paragraphs per day with an average of four paragraphs per scene. These script paragraphs consist of the Action Descriptions, the Character Name, the (Character Direction), and the Dialogue. Some of them are only one line long, but they are still paragraphs. Of course, not all of my scenes will be four paragraphs long. Some may be a little shorter or a little longer. A lot of it depends on how long the scenes are: twos, fours, sevens, and nines are nine sentences/lines long. Ones, threes, sixes, and eights are eleven sentences/lines long. And fives and tens are fifteen sentences/lines long. Will I continue writing my Scene Outlines like this? That’s what I will try to do. I don’t know how many I will be writing over ten, fifteen, etc. But I will try to continue doing that. Like I wrote above, the sooner I get these Scene Outlines done the sooner I can start working on my scripts. Of course, that may be a problem now. After all, I had to get a job. Of course, I would have loved to just write all day. But I have bills, food, etc. that my monthly retirement doesn’t pay for. I had to get a job. Luckily, it’s in security, mostly on the graveyard shift. So, I should be able to continue working on my writing. Hopefully, I will be doing it on my laptop. It's up in the air right now whether I will be able to do any of my writing at work. But because I’m working mostly the night shift there I think I will be writing. I’m just not sure how that writing will happen. It could be on my laptop or I could be handwriting it again. I’m hoping for my laptop. But it could be my handwriting too. |
