Daily Poem Donald Trump's Lethologica Poor Donald Trump Showing clear signs Of incipient dementia Or Alzheimer’s like his father had. The signs are everywhere Particularly he has developed Lethologica An inability to recall words. As he does his rambling speeches His weave as he calls it Word salads as his critics call it. He stumbles to recall the right words Often confusing names and places Or inventing new words When he can’t recall The real word. Yet despite these obvious sign Donald Trump is not mentally fit To be President, One of the most challenging jobs In the whole world. The election is a dead heat And he could become President 47. Craft a poem using the concept of Lethologica. Lethologica is the temporary inability to retrieve a specific word. It’s also called “tip-of-the-tongue phenomenon.” Although you may not have the exact word available, you may come up with an amusing alternative. Your poem should be at least eight (8) lines. You may NOT use the following examples: Restaurant menu – food syllabus; Clothes dryer – tumble oven; Soup – wet salad; (Restaurant) Reservation – food appointment Random objects: thingamabob, thingamajig, gizmo, whatchamacallit, widget You may NOT use the following words or any of their variants: Tongue |
