Updating My Scene Outlines
Updating My Scene Outlines

I finished my Episode Two Scene Outline about halfway through my shift. Unfortunately, that’s all I got finished today. It was twenty-three paragraphs instead of twenty-eight. It doesn’t matter. All that matters is why I only got twenty-three paragraphs written last night and this morning.

Normally, I would have started the Episode Three Scene Outline tonight. But I didn’t because about a third of the way into my shift, I noticed that my width line spacing was all wrong. It was set up for a sixty-character line instead of sixty-five characters.

That extra five-character length meant my Scene Heading and my Action Description Paragraphs have been five characters off. After I changed the margins, I had to go back and update this Scene Outline. Unfortunately, it took me most of the night to finish this update.

Why did it take me so long to update this Scene Outline? It’s mostly because of the rewriting I had to do for the line endings to be less than five characters long. It wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. But it was still bad. Sometimes it was very bad.

I have a lot of big words like InWaterStructure, InWaterSurface, WaterStructure, etc. that sometimes end a line. This makes it hard to keep to the five-character rule I made for myself. Luckily, I didn’t have too many of these problems. But I did have a few.

The Scene Heading was the easiest updating I had to do earlier today. All I had to do was space five times to get the numeric number at the end of the line. These five extra spaces help out with some of my Scene Headings. After all, I have five extra spaces for these Scene Headings.

I only had about an hour to start updating the first three Scene Outlines for my Water Wars scriptwriting project. Instead of starting Part One of this Movie Introduction, I decided to write my blog entry instead. I did this for a couple of reasons.

One reason is I only had about an hour to work on this Part One Scene Outline. I knew I wouldn’t get too much of it updated. So, I decided to do it tomorrow. Normally, I don’t get any writing done on a Sunday because it’s only a six- hour shift. But I will try to do it this week.

Another reason I started writing this blog entry is that I had a problem with writing my blog entry yesterday. I almost didn’t get it written and posted before I had to get ready for work yesterday. of course, most of the reason why I was almost late was because of my brother.

My brother interrupted me while I was writing my blog entry for yesterday. As a result, it slowed me down somewhat. I only have about an hour to work on my blog entries before I get ready for work. And it takes me about an hour to write them. even a slight interruption can be a disaster.

Luckily, it wasn’t that much of a distraction. I still got my blog entry in for yesterday. I didn’t want to take the chance of doing that again. That’s why I’m writing this blog entry now. I don’t have to worry about it being posted on time. I could even do it when I get home from work.

I could post it when I get home from work in about an hour. But I probably won’t. I will probably wait until I get up tomorrow afternoon to post it. I just wanted to get it written so that I could post it when I got home if I wanted to do it. like I just wrote above, I probably won’t.
