Southern Style Thanksgiving Dinner In Berkeley? I grew up in Berkeley, California In the 60s and 70s. My Mother was from Arkansas My Father was from Yakima, Washington. My mother always did a southern-style Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner. The full spread included Oven-roasted turkey with stuffing in the bird Mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes with marshmallows, stuffing Bacon, cranberry sauce, green beans, gravy, grits, ham, salad. Apple pie, mincemeat pie, and pecan pie with ice cream. Followed by watching Football with my Dad.
