Water Wars 2025

You will hate me even more than at least one of you hates me already. Before I go to sleep, I think about my writing. Sometimes it’s what I’m working on right now, and sometimes it’s something else. Last night, it was both. I started thinking about when I would create my WDC Short Story for this month. I did that today.

Today, I also created my Shameless Plug Page, my Please Review Page, and my latest Notebook entry. The next thing I started thinking about was my Novel writing project, which I would like to return to next year. It wasn’t only the Novel I was thinking about, though. I wanted this Novel to be an introduction to a television series.

That got me thinking about my DeathBringers anthology television series. I thought I would call it SpaceHorrors, but now I’m calling it DeathBringers. I wrote several Short Stories this year, but they didn’t go over well. Mostly, it was because I didn’t start with a backstory for these DeathBringers. I am now with this Novel.

This Novel isn’t based on this television series. It’s a Movie Introduction that brought the DeathBringers to life and why they do what they do. This Movie Introduction is also a lead-in for this television series. I was trying to figure out how I would write this Novel. I realized I could do the same with my Water Wars scriptwriting project.

I figured out a way for me to do an average of fifteen seconds/lines for each scene in my Movie Introduction and my television episodes. Before, it was nine, eleven, and fifteen seconds/lines, including the Scene Heading line. But now I can return to the thirteen, fifteen, and nineteen seconds/lines format.

All I needed to do was drop the number of scenes for every Act from thirty to twenty-five. Those five fewer scenes made it possible to separate the Scene Heading from the scenes. Thirteen is better than nine. Fifteen is better than eleven, but it wasn’t as big a problem as the nine. Four more for the nineteen adds four more seconds/lines.

The old format was good, but this one is better. It doesn’t give the Secondary Characters of Reen, Voonc, and Kiirra an upper hand at the beginning and end of each Act. It gives it back to my Primary Characters of Chaad, Suuri, and Hoolle. Another advantage of starting over is that I was about to do that with Grammarly Pro almost any way.

I was about to start updating my Story and Scene Outlines with Grammarly Pro anyway. This isn’t that much of a stretch starting this project over again. It’s not as bad as it sounds, though. It should go faster now. After all, I was almost ready to start writing my scripts. The storylines are the same. It’s just how I’m writing them that’s different.
