Sunshine Of Your Love - Cream

In the lulls between Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker fighting like cat and dog, Cream actually managed to record some music. (Apparently in the days before Cream, when Baker and Bruce were in another band - The Graham Bond Organisation - Baker pulled a knife on Bruce just to emphasise the point that he'd been fired.) They used to sabotage each other's instruments, fight on stage, and Bruce's experiments with turning his amp up to the max (but possibly not up to eleven ) got so crazy that, during one concert, Clapton stopped playing and neither of the others noticed. How he didn't snap and bang their heads together is a mystery.

This is a relatively recent discovery for me. I knew of them but had never listened to any of their work, so I'm playing catch-up. This is one of those songs everyone has heard at some point. I recognised it immediately. It also has some splendidly suggestive lyrics:

and

I'll stay with you, darling, now
I'll stay with you 'til my seas are dried up
