A blog devoted just to my scriptwriting. That’s all I’m going to blogging about here. |
Updating DeathBringers I started working on Part One of the Movie Introduction Scene Outline for my DeathBringers anthology television series. Unfortunately, I didn’t get too far with it today for several reasons. One of those reasons is that I needed to do some updating before I started writing this Movie Introduction Scene Outline. The first thing I updated was the Acts. After the title page, I set up the six Acts to start on their own page, just like they will do once I start writing these scripts. With movie scripts, there are no Acts; there is only one FADE IN, and one FADE OUT, but with television Parts or Episodes, there is one FADE IN and one FADE OUT for each Act. After I finished updating the Act, I started writing this Part One Scene Outline. The first Establishing Shot was easy. I had a slight problem with the second Establishing Shot. I don’t introduce the time of day a scene takes place other than DAY or NIGHT in the Scene Heading, but I will need it in the scripts. I don’t have enough lineage to introduce the time of DAY or NIGHT it is in my Scene Outlines. After all, my Establishing Shots are only three lines long. It’s hard to write the time of DAY or NIGHT in a three-line paragraph when this part of the paragraph takes up about a line by itself. For example, ‘We don’t know the Earth time is between 10 AM and 12 PM.’ It wasn’t too hard to create a spreadsheet for my DeathBringers television series. All I did was copy my Water Wars Timeline spreadsheet and delete the parts related to Water Wars. Once I did that, all I needed to do was place my Xs for the times I wanted to take place in this Movie Introduction. I will add the first four episodes later. Now that I had finished my updating, I was ready to start working on this Scene Outline. Only I wasn’t prepared. When I started writing this Scene Outline, I realized that it was going to be more challenging than it had been for my Water Wars scriptwriting project. After all, I have rewritten my Water Wars project about a million times. It’s not only because this is a new project for me. I know what I want to write in these paragraphs, but I don’t know how to write them. It probably wouldn’t be that hard for my other scriptwriting projects, but this one is special. After all, there is a tie-in between this scriptwriting project and a Novel I’m writing about this project. |
