Another Year

Another year that has come and gone, reminds me of how far I've come.

Twisted, broken, and laid to waste,
I will not let you take my grace.
I remember those nights; too afraid to sleep;
And the daylight nightmares that made me weep.

But the pain I once buried so deep inside,
That made me ashamed and want to hide,
Now reminds me of how far I’ve come,
I’m no longer muted, scared nor dumb.

One more year has come and gone,
It’s another year to prove I won.
