Pathological

A little fib here,
A couple falsehoods there.
Fabrications and falsities frame
my every sentence and story.

Truth and clarity dissolve
in a torrent of prevarications and lies.
The simplicity of genuine honesty
doesn’t matter to my mendacious tongue,
which delights in the beauty of chaos created
by improvised and fictionalized realities.

What’s the point of coming into the light,
when I flourish in the darkness?
