Mysteries of the Night

Bump in the night, everyone's fright
A shatter and crash, a midnight smash
Thumping across us as we lie between sheets
The feel of soft fur running down our legs

At last when dreams invade rational thought
The monstes creating the ruckus get caught
In a whirlwind of jumping and a claw or two
The soft purring of the purpetrator resounds
Bringing along reassuring repetitive sounds

Finally sleep arrives with great slumber
Filled with thoughts of sweet meows
As kitty gives up the haunting of the house
And joins the night's creatures in sweet surrender
