La Dolce Vida--A Little of the Sweet Life

Today is the day that I become
More than yesterday less than tomorrow
A butterfly with rainbow wings
Flying high on summer's breeze

Spreading my wings to release energy
That's been building deep inside of me
A hidden jewel that is being born
To hide the taste of forbidden scorn

Carissimo my dearest little pet
My life has been so good and yet
I still must pass through death's door
To feel the pain and to want more

I find I must leave some behind
As not all are meant ot stick around
I will make it on my own
But I won't let you treat me bad

I am the best version I can be
On this new day in front of me
Today I will rise even higher
And live as if I am on fire
