Duality
Anguish
I linger, because I do not wish to cry.
Cry I must—not here, not now, yet I—
Pain descends, soul's light smothered by rain;
Rain dims my perception to nothing but pain.
Weight of sin drags me to untimely fate;
Fate, unforgiving, denies repentance to relieve the weight.
Joy
Flowers, unfolding to life by the hour,
Hour of dayglow, captured in flowers.
Sun warms cold, pale skin of a weary one,
One who's watched blackness smother the sun.
Here, now, I break iron chains of fear;
Fear flees—redemption's pure light is here.
